I went to Washington, D.C. for the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) in the summer of 2002. It was an amazing experience, and I grew a lot as a speaker and a leader, and learned a lot about how our nation’s government works. I got a chance to meet Tammy Baldwin, one of the Representatives from my state (Wisconsin). I also met one of my best friends there, Lauren. We got a chance to see all kinds of sights, like the National Cathedral, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, et al. It was a great time!
