Yeah, OK, this was fun. But I must admit there are probably nicer places to visit on this planet. Still, to have a look around on a company trip is never a bad thing. Took the last day of a 3-day visit off and wandered about the city a bit. It’s very modern high-maintenance buildings standing right next to delerict burn-outs mixed with regular houses. A weird mix of decay and growth in a fairly big city.

Oh, and Manchester is a recurring theme in Jeff Noon books. Which you should know.

I’m still here, actually :) Too bad my only choices are ‘I want to go’ and ‘I’ve been’, in this connected world ‘I am here’ should be the third option :P

Anyhow, again with the work travel, so a lot of hotels, airports, offices, bars. Even so, the colleagues took me out last night and we painted the town red. I am still nursing a killer hangover.

It looks like a lovely place to visit in summer, and it’s going into my wishlist.

The Finnish people can seem a bit cold and distant at first, but they’re really friendly. Stubborn, maybe, but definitely friendly :P

but I managed to have some fun there anyway. Just a three-day visit and most of it was packed with hard work, but the people are always friendly, the food and beer are fine if expensive, and most everyone speaks English. I’m always happy to visit Sweden, even if at the moment it is 15 below zero celsius.

Visited a lovely restaurant called popcorn, if you live near there or visit I highly recommend you visit it, it is AMAZING. An imaginative menu with an excellent wine chart, and friendly staff.

Soon I will travel here for work. I plan to add in an extra day or day (sadly I can’t stay longer) so I can have a look around. I’m curious and excited to go here.

I went here for work and am definitely planning on coming back. There is just so much to see, it is HUGE! I was there in summer, and it was a blazing 30 degrees celcius. My colleagues spent a lot of time showing me around, it is obvious they are quite proud of their city and justly so.

The food was so-so, there were a lot of things I did not care for, but prices were good, and when you visit a country always try the local cuisine, even if it doesn’t go down well. And of course try the vodka. And why just try one?
