Worth visiting!
Non-Celebrity #13
When I was living in London, I worked just around the corner from the tate modern. I watched it being built (as well as the millenium bridge… which is a funny story for another time).
On opening day, I stood in line for a couple hours and even signed a dorky print that someone gave to one of the curators, but I managed to be the 13th person (who was not invited to the celebrity galla the night before}in the door and had the pleasure of making myself sick with hours of art over-dose…
The permanant collection is amazing, the curators phenominal, and for the non-celebrity, non-europeans out there… entrance is free and cafe at the top of the place has an wonderful view of St. Paul’s and really good tea.
If you have the chance, go there and then stop by The Anchor just a little further up the Thames.
