Virginia Highland, Atlanta

Neighbors

The Highlands are one of my favorite Atlanta neighborhoods. It’s a great place to walk around. There are many small boutiques and shops to look in, restaurants to eat at, and you can walk to Piedmont Park, but most of all there are bars many bars. Unlike the bars in say Buckhead, the Highlands bars have pretty laid back pub type atmospheres. The only drawback to the area is the parking. Carpool, carpool, carpool, and expect to have to parallel park. If you get there after nine o’clock you might be parking a few blocks away.

The Varsity Restaurant, Atlanta

What'yl Ya Have?

I have never really understood why everyone “must” go to The Varsity. I guess it would be more appealing to me if I liked either hot dogs or onion rings, because that’s what you are supposed to get. Don’t get the fries, they are always limp and fully of grease. The frosted orange is actually the only thing on the menu that I like. Also the fact that they yell at you and you aren’t supposed to change your order or whatever is just sort of annoying.

Musée Du Louvre, 1er Arrondissement

Worth visiting, but...

It’s the Louvre, it’s worth visiting, but a little underwhelming for me. It was extremely crowded and you’ve got to push your way through people to see it. You know, that painting that everyone’s there to see.
