One of the many great little cafes and restaurants in Mt Dora.
over 6 years agoAwesome place to go to relax and unwind. The bottom floor is open air and has a great view of the downtown area in Mt Dora. If you are a beer enthusiast…welcome to paradise! The upstairs portion of this pub is a Jazz Martini Bar. I don’t really drink so I haven’t been up there but I hear it’s really nice. Smaller than the 1st floor and much more intimate of setting.
The food is great although a bit pricey but, what isn’t in Mt Dora?
over 6 years agoEven though 2006 came and went without the usual amount of rainfall, leaving the lakes, ponds, and canals of the area very, VERY low…a trip through the Doral Canal is still an awesome and breathtaking experience. Alligator mating season is in FULL swing, as you can tell by the pictures of the gators just lazing about on the shoreline. A trip through the canal is like taking a step back into what it must have been before Florida became the bustling “sunshine state” we know it to be today. You will see majestic Bald Eagles, vultures, an occasional shy river otter and on my last trip…a Great Horned Owl! If you are “sans boat”, there are several pontoon tours that go out regularly that visit the canal. If you’re in the area, Mount Dora and this beautiful canal are DEFINITELY worth the trip. Come see for yourself.
