Wacken is legendary and I really want to go this year, the line up is pure bliss.

Bands that I particularly want to see:
At the Gates, CARCASS!, Children Of Bodom, Ensiferum, Gorerotted, Iron Maiden, Lordi, Obituary, Sonata Arctica.

This place is stunning even before you get inside. The glass pyramids look very alien among the beautiful old buildings, and the main entrance of the museum is actually underground, you go down on escalators once you get in the pyramid.
You could easily spend the whole day looking around here, there is just so much to see. Allow yourself plenty of time.
The display of Egyptian artefacts was superb, it was my favourite thing that we saw in the museum. The collection is extensive and they have made a section which gives the impression that you are going down into a burial chamber to see the sarcophagi.
Pick up a map from the front desk and take a camera with you. There is information and tours available if you want to learn about the displays, but it is equally interesting to just step back and look at everything. Even the arcitechture of the building itself is fascinating!

The queues for this attraction can get HUGE, we walked past there before it opened one morning and there were scores of people already waiting.
This was the big thing that I wanted to do on our trip, so we went up on the first night we arrived. It was about 6pm and we had to wait about half an hour but it was totally worth it. It was already dark by the time we started to go up, and there were christmas lights all over the city. Once you get out onto the platform it is just breathtaking.
We only went up to the first level but you still get a fantastic view, and there is a restaurant, cinema, some art displays, and of course a gift shop!
We weren’t brave enough to walk up the steps (it was windy!) but the lift is nice and it is cool to see the city falling away below you as you get further towards the top.
We also had a wander through the park one morning, it is small but pretty, and there is a little pond with ducks and other birds there.

Paris is wonderful for tourists, everything is in a central location, easy to find and there is just so much to do.
There are plenty of opportunities for sightseeing and I instantly slipped into the role of “stereotypical British tourist”, guidebook & map in one hand, camera in the other, marching along the Seine towards the tourist hotspots that I had to see.
It’s also a nice place to just walk around. We spent almost a whole day just wandering around the little streets, along the Seine and up to the Place Charles de Gaulle.
It is really tempting to rush around and try and squeeze EVERYTHING into a short break in the city, but I advise to pick out the few places that you would like to see the most, and then take your time enjoying them.
And I would also recommend everyone to get a chocolate crepe from one of the street vendors they are amazing!

Great location, great shopping, lovely food, and the beautiful Arc de Triomphe at the end.
Chez Clement is a nice place to eat it’s quirky, cheap and has friendly staff.
I didn’t go up on the Arc but I bet you would have a lovely view of the Champs Elysees and the Seine.
If you have cash to burn then shop away, but it’s also nice to just take a walk from one end to the other. We went when all the Christmas lights were up and it looked amazing at night time.
The shops stay open late into the night so if you’re short on time then you can still manage to fit in a bit of shopping or relaxing after a day of sightseeing.

Go more than once! It is a wonderful place to go and there is a lot to see there. There are signs around suggesting that you get to shows 30 mins before they start to get a good seat, and that is totally true for the orca and dolphin shows, they were packed out and every seat was full. It’s not really worth arriving very early as a lot of the park is sectioned off and doesn’t open until 10.00am. The dolphin cove and nursery was so cute, and they have staff there to answer and questions and tell you all about the animals.
STAY AWAY FROM THE SHAMU SOAK ZONE! The water is soooo cold and you will get soaked through. You get a better view from the seats further back anyway.
Take a sweater for when you go into the arctic zone, it is freezing in there, they actually have a wall made out of ice!
If you love animals it is totally worth finding out about the tours they offer, we did the Predator and Polar ones and got to touch a shark and a penguin as well as going behind the scenes and learning a lot of stuff about the animals and the park.
This is one of the best places I have ever been to and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I went to the Animal Kingdom part of Disney World. There was a lot to see and do, and the safari ride was fascinating. The Dinosaur ride was fun but weird, and I wasn’t really that impressed by anything except the animals. It was worth going just to see what a Disney Park is like and I love seeing animals, but to be honest I prefer Longleat back here in the UK!
Also, the tree with all the animals on is not a real tree! I was a bit disappointed about that.

I had so much fun here, all the rides are great and they make everything into a fun experience. To avoid queueing too much, go early and start in the middle of the park first, then work your way around the edges. Terminator 2 3-D, MIB, Jaws, Earthquake and the Horror Make-Up Show are must-sees. I would totally recommend getting a multi-day ticket and going next door to Islands of Adventure as well.

Because I deserve a nice holiday! I’ve had a lot of stress lately, and I couldn’t think of a better way to get away from it all and re-energise. As long as I don’t freak out during the long, long flight I will be a happy little bunny. There is so much to do, the weather is great and I don’t have to brush up on any foreign language skills before I go. Plus I found an awesome deal online for a 2-week stay & flights it’s just over £400pp, which is practically the same as a weeks holiday in Europe. EXCITED :D

I went to Cardiff back in 2005 because the band Mortiis (one of my faves) were touring, and it was the nearest gig to where I live. After a fairly nice train journey I arrived at Cardiff Central station. Stepping outside, I was right in the middle of things with shops and pubs everywhere. My hotel was a 5 minute walk down the road and the room was absolutely huge. You could’ve slept 4 people in there, which was kinda sad cause I was on my own in this huge hotel room…but it was great value for money and had yummy breakfast in the morning as well. The gig was at the Cardiff Barfly, which was a further 5 minutes walk from my hotel. Tiny, tiny venue, but nice atmosphere and fun bar staff. And the sound was surprisingly high quality, they must have had a pretty decent set-up hidden behind the stage. I’d say Cardiff is a good place to go if you are travelling in the UK alone. There’s a lot of stuff to do along the lines of shopping, drinking, etc. but I didn’t really get to see much else the city had to offer. Also have to mention that the taxidrivers there are really helpful! Gave me directions and answered my questions about the place.
