The nearest best thing if you can’t go from Mumbai to the North or the Himalayas is to visit Lonavala in the monsoons. Khandala and Lonavala are amazing hill stations and provide a great refreshing break from routine. Lonavala especially is also famous for its chikkis and fudges. Don’t miss out the dry fruit chikkis. They are simply out of this world!!

Yes, the crowds are huge, yes the beach is dirty but the sunsets are awesome.

I visited Chennai to attend my post-graduation practical exams that were scheduled there. I stayed there for around 10-12 days but didn’t get time for any sight-seeing. All I saw was Marina Beach, some trips down the road, Lalit Kala Akademi,Madras Boat Club and a bit of Egmore.
