Hi, I have experience traveling all over Korea.
Some tips I could give you include, spending 1-2hours of your life studying hanguel. It will make your trip easier. Hanguel is their writing system and it is easy to learn. This really depends on the length of time or how much you intend to travel. With Hanguel you will be able to read signs for destinations and some menus. Most people can learn to read within 2 hours.
Be careful where you stay, especially in
Seoul or larger cities.
I hope you like Korean food.
There are many tours to the DMZ, I went there about 5 or 6 times in all, including crossing over to Nth Korea, which I think is closed now to tourism.
When I travel to a new place, I usually look up the top ten things to do and chose what I’m interested in from there. I hope you enjoy your trip to SK.
