i love this art museum. its bigger and better than anything we have here in miami. you can spend the entire day here if youre not in a hurry. some highlights for me included paintings by arizona native philip c. curtis, which were eerie depictions of life and death in the desert, as well as the ancient tibetan and chinese buddhist sculptures and artifacts.

I have been twice. Im really into nature, and growing up in Florida, in a more tropical region it is really quite a contrast. Although from the moment you step off of the plane and see the scenery and realize youre not in kansas anymore (or miami as in my case), the botanical garden is a showcase of arizonas native desert plants and is really quite special.

Being a Florida native, I have been here several times throughout my life. Especially as a child. And though I am grown now, and have contempt for the Disney corporation for their sweatshops and human rights abuses, as well as for their control over a nice-sized chunk of the media, I still cannot help but feel the magic of my childhood when I step through the gates. My last trip was a couple of years ago. I really want to go with a small group of good friends, and take a small handful of good mushrooms.
