San Francisco was the first city of America that I had ever visited from my home in Adelaide, Australia. I immediately loved this gorgeous place and felt right at home.
The first time I visited, I stayed in the city centre at the Marriott and then at the Handlery in Union Square. Both very different hotels and lovely in their own right. The design of the Marriott was unique and one of the locals referred to it as the “jukebox”. Our room at the Handlery had a sweet window seat and little table for meals.
During my last visit to San Francisco, my friend and I stayed at the Grant Plaza Hotel in Chinatown. It was a totally different experience. This hotel was situated right in the hubbub of Chinatown, and I loved the energy and the atmosphere. We bought some beautiful silver and jade jewellery, amongst other things.
I can’t wait for my next visit in a few weeks, as I get to spend some time with my friend and her family in the Napa Valley. We then get to stay at the Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel.
I will write about this in my next entry on San Francisco.
