Hornsby
Worth visiting!
Why I recommend this place to visitors
Hornsby, The bushland shire
Hornsby is an area well populated by bushland and wildlife so if you like those things it’s a great place to live. In some cases an Echidna has actually found it’s way into my old primary school much to the joy of student who witnessed it. We were sure to keep our distance though as we didn’t want to scare it. I was proud having been the first to spot it. :)
There is very nice housing and neighbourhoods as well as places to rent so you don’t need to be extremely rich to live here.
It isn’t far from the city or the country and the air is clean so if you don’t want to live in either of these areas Hornsby is a nice in between.
The local shopping center, Westfield, is full of interesting and average shops. Most locals buy the majority of their items there including their groceries. It is large enough to be a major shopping center but not so huge that’ll you get lost forever. There are handy signs at every corner so that you can easily find your way.
The education system is of a high standard offering many schools for you to choose from when selecting a school for your child. There are also many schools in the surrounding area so that you are not limited.
Hornsby has no pet limit as long as you meet the requirements shown on the website. There is even a special dog park in Rofe Park where you can take your dog for puppy training or when lessons aren’t on just to socialise. :) Many people have made good friends who they discuss a great variety of things with, while their dog(s) make friends of their own.
I have lived here all my life and though I’ve visited many other places, Hornsby comes top of my list as a great place to live.
Be sure to visit the Hornsby Shire website at http://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/ if you’re interested.
