I absolutely LOVED Tokyo! I went there for my honeymoon a little over a year ago, and just fell in love with the city. We had a penpal who lives in Tokyo. We got to meet up with her, and we had a great time. It’s really worth it to get to know a local before you go. She showed us so much that we would have never been able to see without her help.

We met a few really wonderful people while we were there. We ended up having a very nice conversation with an older man in Uedo park about his views on the youth of today. We also met a very nice woman while we were lost in the subway system (very easy to do), and she was just extremely nice and really went out of her way to help us.

Lots of people you encounter in Japan will be a bit standoff-ish, but for the most part in a respectable way. This is just to be expected.

I am looking forward to going back again, possibly this year. The 14+ hours on the plane were totally worth it.

I live here, and I would be bored out of my skull if I were just a visitor. However, it is a very nice place to live. It feels remote, yet it’s fairly close to Charlotte. It’s a very tiny town, and it’s only been formed for 32 years.

I suppose someone would want to visit it if they were into nascar, as we are right up the street from Lowes motor speedway, but apart from that, nothing much to do actually in the town itself.
