I spent three months living in Williams Lake with a volunteer group this past summer. The people in the city were so welcoming, and friendly that it made me a little less homesick. Also, there is so much to learn about the First Nations Culture here. I attended sweats, a pow wow and a drum circle while I was living here, and visited a native heritage village. Williams Lake was a tremendous experience for me and I learned so much about the history of Canada. Lovely place :)

I work at the Halifax Citadel, and have for three years now. It’s Halifax’s best attraction, by far and if you’re visiting the city I would make sure to check it out at least at noon for the firing of the cannon (which happens year round) and the noon day concert (which only happens during the summer, when the entire Citadel is open). Also, the coffee shop has home made soups and sandwiches that are worth checking out. The cook is a wonderful lady!
