I camped here, with my mother, brother, and grandma. On the second day, we went out to the cascades. Water was low, due to a lack of recent rain, so we didn’t see scary rushing water or drowning people that ignored the “OH MY GOD, NO SWIMMINGPLEASE” signs. Instead, we saw these gigantic rocks, bare and sun bleached. They reminded me of dinosaur backs, or something equally prehistoric and grand and kind of scary. This was the one time I didn’t have my camera with me.
We also hiked near the riverfront, where I was struck by all the autumnal colors- everywhere, walls of trees in striking greens, reds, and yellows provided backdrops.
It’s beautiful.
Go. Go, and take pictures or paint or try to write it all down.
