Tanuki

I have some family here and I really enjoyed visiting them. Charlotte has a nice downtown and some very upscale neighborhoods, but what other people have said about it being boring and sterile is probably true. You could also say it is laid back and quiet. Unfortunately I wouldn’t know why you’d go there unless you had business or family there.

Not all of the wildlife wants to get close. Bring binoculars. :-)

My whole company (50 people) went here once as a field trip. Afterward we had a private catered dinner above the gift shop. It was excellent. The museum takes about 2 or 3 hours to fully appreciate, but it’s my second favorite one in D.C, after the Holocaust Museum.

This is the most commercialized zoo I’ve ever been to (gift shops all over the place). But, they also showcase lots of amazing animals. I like the Galapagos turtles (turtles big enough to ride).
