I went for the Christmas festival in mid December and it was fantastic! Lots of little stalls set up in the squares with heaps of people, Gluewein sellers on every corner, and a really Christmas-y atmosphere. A beautiful way to get into the feel of things for the holiday season!

My brother got married here, its gorgeous, fantastic weather and very earthy, community feel. One of the only places i felt safe hitchhiking, too :)

I suggest every white person should have the experience of standing on a street in Asia and being the only white person in sight…simply incredible, and the people are so lovely and unpretentious!

Awesome beautiful city, loved every minute of it! NZ is fantastic and the locals are very friendly, I would go back in a heartbeat…and don’t forget to go into your local CD store and chat up the manager or someone there, they are very welcoming and loads of fun to hang out with ;)
