Like Lancaster. If I had to pick one of these places, I’d pick Palmdale, only because of the forward-thinking city council. The mayor is top-notch. Please don’t ask about the Lancaster city council…

I live here. :sigh:

During the summer…best times of day are sun-up and sundown. Otherwise, it’s windy like all hell, and hot like the same. It’s flat and brown and unless you’re really into dirtbiking or cool aircraft (B2, F117, B1, U2), you’re not gonna find a whole helluva lot to do.

Every city needs something like this. So much to look at, beautiful produce, flowers, vendors. Interesting! Plus, a rich history…always a bonus for me.

Food of all kinds. Beautiful scenery. Weather suits me…I like rain and cold. During the summer, I understand it is exquisite. Downtown area pretty nice… dodge the homeless, and you’re all set.

Great place to check out. Right in town near the Ramada. Really surprisingly good food…and certainly not what you’re used to finding in this area. Homey atmosphere, accomodating to large groups. Great for lunch. Don’t try and squeeze yourself in there during Ligonier Days…that could take all weekend.

You gotta see it to believe it.

There is nothing about this town that isn’t charming. It’s the epitome of small town America. Flagpole in the center of town next to the bandstand on the town square (or “Diamond” in this case). You gotta check Joe’s Bar. I got an uncle that calls it The Dead Animal Bar. Clearly, you have to see for yourself.

But I love it. Family has lived around here forever… I dig history, and this place is full of it. Check out the Flood Museum here and in South Fork. Pretty amazing.

Maybe it’s just me, but they have the best hot dogs at the Coney Island Lunch across from the bus station in Johnstown. Chili, onions, salt and pepper. They are best eaten on a rainy or cold day. Deco inside is circa 1965.

I can’t say enough about this city. I love it! It’s far nicer than LA, has charm, history, sports, blight. What’s not to love! lol You gotta go and see for yourself.
