I recommend going to Disneyland as early in the morning as you possibly can, and plan around a day like the Super Bowl or some day where a lot of people would similarly stay home. We went once on the day of the last match of the FIFA World Cup, and there were about 8 other visitors in the whole park.
ALSO, learn how the Fastpass thing works, and Fastpass Space Mountain as soon as you can, because it gets crowded really fast and the Fastpasses will run out if you don’t jump on it.
