Santiago De Compostela, A Coruña (Province)

Untitled

My friend Mariluz went to do the pilgrimage at Santiago de Compostela several years ago and came back absolutely transformed. Her husband had died a few years prior to that and she had been walking around half-dead herself. The light had really gone out of her life, and she felt no hope, just a terrible emptiness. The kids grew and left the house and she was all alone. She went to the pilgrimage, and the person who came back was full of life, hope, spirituality, happiness. I have read accounts of other people who have been transformed like this as well, but to actually see it happening was incredible.

New Orleans, Orleans Parish

Untitled

To get to know New Orleans with the best guide in the world. My Baby.

Okay, so that’s actually a pretty trite sentence, but the truth is that I know someone who makes me feel like I need to see New Orleans because of all the history and the beauty there, and he knows so much about it, but more than that; he feels so much about it, that his enthusiasm when he starts talking about the place is contageous. I really need to haul ass and get myself down there.

Vancouver, British Columbia

Untitled

Vancouver is the city where I plan to retire. I have lived in Ontario for nearly 30 years and I love it here, but for my retirement I plan to live in a place that has mountains and ocean close by, the kind of rainy, misty weather that I used to love growing up in Chile.

I think that Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in Canada, although I have to admit that Quebec City is also as beautiful though in a different way. If I have to choose between the two, I choose Vancouver because of the weather, and the fact that it’s on the Pacific coast of Canada.
