City State Of Metis

Worth visiting!

Where is Metis?

You didn’t hear? I started my own country. Can I do that? Hmmm, I suppose so, I forgot to ask anyone.

Where is the City State of Metis you might ask? Well, its actually in my third story, one bedroom apartment. But I like to think of it as a state of mind…hey! That has a ring to it!

Metis, Its A "State" of Mind

Filling Station BBQ

Worth visiting!

Filling Station BBQ

Ate here yesterday. Killer BBQ and its only about 4 blocks from my house. That combined with the fact that I have a huge crush on the lady that runs the place…good times.

Las Vegas

Not worth visiting!

I've been here, sort of

Spent a wonderful two hour lay – over in the Vegas airport a day after Christmas about 8 years ago. This was on the way home after my girlfriend had broke up with me earlier that day. Needless to say my opion of Vegas might be a little tainted.

BUT HEY! IM NOT BITTER!!

Mount Rushmore National Memorial

Worth visiting!

The Faces

My Mom could never remember Mount Rushmore so it was referred to as “The Faces” the whole trip.

It reminded me of Chevy Chase in Vacation at the Grand Canyon…Park, Look. Take photos. Hit the gift shop. “Everyone back in the car!”

Kansas

Worth visiting!

Why do all the trees in Missouri lean west?

I live in Kansas City Mo. which is right on the Kansas/Missouri state line and I used to work “over there”. We also had to drive accross Kansas each summer going to Colorado.

Kansas does claim to have the worlds Largest Prairie Dog. I know, I know, its not near as cool as the worlds largest ball of twine but well worth the trip.

Seattle

Worth visiting!

Imagine, it rained when I was here

Was here at the height of the grunge thing. Man I used to own a lot of flannel shirts.

Anyway, not as cool as I thought it was going to be, prolly built it up in my head too much. Drank lots of coffee, saw a couple of shows, can’t remember who. Wasn’t drinking coffee at the time. Space needle….tall.

Arkansas

Worth visiting!

Who Knew?

My Dad’s…hmmm. “Lady Friend” is from Arkansas and I went down with them to her home town. For some reaoson I thought Arkansas was flat, maybe because it has the word Kansas in it. But its NOT!

Check out a little town called Mountain Home on the weekends during the summer if you like Blue Grass music. The whole town square is filled with groups playing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Mountain Home is right on the White river so you might do a float trip during the day and check out the music at night.

By the way, I’m still not sure what sweet tea is and how it different from plain tea. Anyone help me with this one?

Shoshone Falls

Worth visiting!

You have to see our falls!

Spent the night in Twin Fall Idaho and the next morning as we were eating breakfest everyone kept asking “Have you seen our Falls?” Now if one person had mentioned this we might have passed but everyone we met asked if we had…seen the falls?

Worth the the short trip out of town, we only got lost twice.

Cannon Beach

Worth visiting!

My first view of the ocean

Talk about feeling overwhelmed. Just the thought that the next landfall is Japan was rather mind blowing.

Portland

Worth visiting!

Its been a while

My cousin lives in Portland so I had a native guide while I was there. If your the outdoor type you will love Portland, your just a hour from the beach or skiing depending on the season.

Spent a wonderful day with my cousin and her husband in their drift boat on the Willamette River.
