When I went to Egypt, we visited a lot of temples and, of course, the Valley of the Kings. But we didn’t visit any pyramids. I’ve been to Egypt and I’ve never seen an Egyptian pyramid!

So I must go back. This time, I think I will take my husband along so that he can see some of the country as well.

Back in 1997, we took a two week cruise up and down the nile. It was with a company that had activities and tourist locations planned every day, so we got to see a lot of the country that borders the river. They also organized a camel ride to a small town where we had tea.

It was amazing fun. We’ve taken away so many happy memories of that trip. If you can find something similar, I highly recommend it.

We went there for our honeymoon. We spent three days at the top of the hill, within view of the fortress. It was beautiful! We were there in the middle of a summer festival, though, so there were a lot of tourists. That meant that we had the most interesting street performers out, but everything was very expensive. Food cost an arm and a leg!

But we managed not to spend too much. We mostly just walked around the city and watched all the magician shows. It was definitely worth it!
