Danshan, Sichuan
I rode a bus to the end of the line from Ziyang, Sichuan and came to the small town of Danshan, which is about 2 1/2 hours south of Chengdu. I spent the weekend in Danshan, talked with a lot of people (I speak Mandarin), wandered around town and saw the Sunday market where the peasants from the surrounding countryside sell their products. Getting out to see rural China was a highlight of my visit. Try to get out to the countryside.
