Why I want to go to this place
I was here once, as a child. And it is the land of my father, and my family. I may be Canadian, but, I have strong ties to this country. I must go to the land where my ancestors walked.

Not worth visiting!
A constant barrage of new shops, kids with with nothing to do, and enough consumerism to make a Marxist perish in mere moments. This is the epitome of capitalism and consumerism, an endless dance distracting man from the Gaia around them, under their feet, and stretching endlessly above them.

I came here once, when I was young and just letting my experiences shape my perception. It was my first encounter with the vastness of the world, knowing that the ocean stretches from the point I stood on for distances that I could not fathom as a child. Growing up, it no longer held such mystery. But, to stand at the edge of the ocean and look out into a sight that has captivated men for hundreds of years…is majestic.

I spent the better part of two years visiting (and for a short while, living) here. It is an absolutely beautiful city with more culture than you could possibly imagine. There are thousands of events, thousands of unique people and you can quite literally find almost anything in this city without even trying. It is laid out very well. Above all, there is enough greenery to show you that yes, you are getting out of the desert of Alberta! Hah.

I was brought into the world here and only lived there for a few years. I hardly remember it and have only recently begun to explore it, and only in the last few years have I cared about what it was and is. Calgary is a wonderful town, a place full of music and compassion. It is rather peaceful, and it almost feels like living in a place where everyone knows they live on the edge of the praries. An outback.
