Bukit Lawang

Worth visiting!

Untitled

It’s a small district and near the big river is where all tourists are concentrated. Small bungalows and guesthouses are around but not a hotel. You can go water tubing or white water rafting or jungle trekking to see the orang utangs. The trip from Medan to this place was a bit rough but the view on the way reminded me of “The Lost World”. Food is cheap.

Ocean World Siam Square

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Of all the places of interest in Bangkok that I’ve been to, this one is the most amazing. I’ve been to the sea world in Sentosa and Jakarta, however they don’t have as much as this place can offer. Penguins, otters, and big sharks…The funny thing was I found it by coincedence whilst shopping in Siam Square coz none of the brochures led me to this place.

Holland Village

Worth visiting!

Okay but not extraordinary

I got here late at night so almost all shops were closed and what’s left were the cafes along the area..I could imagine what it’s like there in day time but little india impressed me more. However, it won’t harm to go and walk around in this area whils in singapore just to get the experience. The food was costly and it’s not more delicious than that in little india.

Little India

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I love the 24 hour supermarket, MUSTAFA..it’s great..coz it’s all packed with indians. Found 2 pairs of cute shoes. Also had a very nice meal on the street. It’s much better and sooo much cheaper compared to the one in Holland Village. I’d love to walk around again someday around the area.

Orchard Road

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Great for those from exotic countries, bad for those from modern countries

I can imagine how boring Orchard Road could be for people from modern countries…clean, sanitary, big shopping malls..but it must be awesome for someonw from an exotic country like me..and it so happened I came with a good friend of mine who also came from a-not-so-developed country..Singapore has put me into an awe but of course you need to have and must be willing to spend lots and lots of money!Although sitting in the park and munching and chatting could be great.

Sentosa Island

Worth visiting!

Crowded, Lots of children

You should try the 3D cinema..It’s much more fun than the 4D cinema..really. The sea world was very much the same like one I’d been to in Jakarta, Indonesia, but there’s a nice small beach nearby. It was too hot at that time so I didn’t really enjoy eat. Me and my boyfriend had some tea nearby. A one day trip is a must but enough. There’s no need to stay the night.

Night Safari

Worth visiting!

Awesome

It was a romantic and chaotic at the same time :) Coz there were lots of children. I wouldn’t forget the fire attractions…dancers “gulping fire balls”..I felt like I was in Borneo. I couldn’t see some of the animals, thought coz it’s too dark and some of them were hiding…If only they’d known I had to pay to see them :)

Menara Kuala Lumpur

Worth visiting!

Amazing view from the top

I went to this place with my boyfriend. There’s a free shuttle that takes you from the parking lot to the entrance. We wanted to have dinner at the revolving restaurant but the attendant said we had to book a week in advance. We were a bit disappointed. But it was healed when we viewed KL from the top coz it’s night-time and it was like a huge huge land full of sparkling jewels below there…They provided these things (sorry I don’t know the name) like binoculars that enables you to observe the city..I could even see someone walking back and forth when the binoulars thingy stuck at an apartment building heheheh dangerous..and I could see Genting Highland far far away at the top of a hill.

Lake Toba

Worth visiting!

Quiet,Tranquil,Laid-back

I’ve been to this place with my ex-bf 3 years ago. We spent quite a long time there. I’d really love to come back but thinking that it would bring back the old memories, I don’t think so. Would be a nice place to visit for a couple.I just didn’t like the local tour guides who couldn’t stop harassing us but may be it’s because they needed money. The food was okay. The pizza was great coz it has thin crust with lots of cheese on the top. I’d recommend Poppy Pizza but we had to wait for more than 2 hours….

Padang Bulan

A review of this place: A lot of public mini buses, chaotic traffic

There’s a famous local university in the area. Traffic is really bad. Cheap hotels are in this area, too but not very safe, I suppose. Lots of young men at the local shops playing chess or just hanging out, having coffee and all. Computer rentals, internet cafes, stationery…If you need to go to these places and get them cheap in Medan…this is the place where you should go to.
