Potomac

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I live here, and have since 1965 (and I wasn’t very far away for the first 6 years of my life, either). I am very particular about climate and surroundings, and don’t think I could be happy anywhere but here or a strip from Central Maryland down to northern South Carolina. Fresh water, rolling hills and a winter that isn’t bad for very long are essential. I’m not much of a beachgoer, but I can’t imagine living far inland.

Worth visiting!

I live here. What else could you ever want to know? It’s great.

The Autumns and Springs are wonderful, the Winter is endurable, and the Summer fairly bad. I live in Potomac, about 14 miles northwest of Washington, DC, but other parts of the state are truly beautiful, particularly the western panhandle near Sharpsburg and some parts of the Eastern Shore near St. Michael’s Island. The C & O Canal, relatively near to my house, is one of my favorite places (although the Potomac River is actually more beautiful from the Virginia side, I must admit).

Chengdu

Chengdu

I don’t know anything about Chengdu other than it is the capital of Szechuan Province. If I ever go there, it won’t be very soon, as extended travel doesn’t seem practical right now.
