Angkor Wat, Angkor Archaeological Park

I had been traveling around Vietnam and Cambodia with an American friend, and we were taking a week to go through the Siem Reap area. It was our first morning there, early enough so most of the people around were professional photographers. I was scrambling all over Angkor Wat taking pictures. High up on one of the ledges, I paused to survey the view, when I heard a voice from below say, “Look, Kelly, it’s Sarah.” And then causually: “Hey, Sarah!” I looked down and nearly fell off when I saw at the bottom of this crumbling structure, probably a good 30 or 40 feet straight down, stood two friends from England. It turns out that they had also been vacationing in the area, and that the evening before Bernie had proposed to Kelly as the sun set on Angkor Wat!
