Bahrain

my take on Bahrain

When I was doing a TDY in Saudi, I would get to Bahrain; matter of fact, from where I was, you could look across and see it from your window(depending from where you stood) That was the place for high price stuff; folks went there to get drunk; some went there to get some great oils and such; some can get a meal(expensive)that is the place.

Yankee Stadium

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Yankee Stadium was a stones throw from where I lived, so my father took us kids there when we were little. Bought us bats and balls and such. He was a good dad. They are in the process of moving Yankee Stadium soon. I believe across the street.

Why I want to go to this place

I wasn’t able to go here, but my kids, brother and brother in law went there, and my brother kept talking about how the kids went crazy about the wall there. So we were talking about bringing some kids down here to see this since we have a couple of them down here. just a thought for now.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s Grave

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I went about twenty some years ago, and it was awesome; I got to go to the Center; got to see the grave and his birthplace right down on Auburn Avenue, and it was quite humbling to say the least. I want my children to see it too and plan to bring them one day.

My Trip

I finally got the time to go and visit this place on Friday; It took $10 for me to get in, but I wasn’t complaining not one bit; Once you go in, you see a short film about Birmingham became a city and the role segregation played in that; Then you got to walk around and see the various exhibits that they have there; I really enjoyed it; But if you want to save some money, GO ON SUNDAY WHEN IT’S FREE.

Buckingham Palace

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I went there in 1997 when I was doing a tour in England and a friend who was here before took me around to all the places worth seeing; I wasn’t able to go inside, but to be outside and say you’ve been there, that is quite a treat. If you can get there for the Changing of the Guards, try and do so.

I went

If you take a trip to New York City, this is worth a look see; You can take the E train right to the site and when you get up to the Street level, your right there; There is pictorial memorial and someone playing music there when you go; Of course, there are street vendors; there’s a man there that brings his fruit and wares(drinks, cookies homemade) from upstate New York, and his cookies are VERY good; I had some. Across the street from Ground Zero is St Peter’s Episcopal Church where the people who helped after 9/11 went there and stayed and made it famous. right across the street from that on the same side as St Peter’s is Century 21 department store, where bargains in clothes, household items and some souvenirs can be found and had. Also there are street vendors selling pictures of the towers and all; I wanted to get one of the pics but didn’t have it to do but it’s worth the look.

Why I want to go to this place

I met a lady that lives in Austria and she went there for her vacation and sent me some postcards to boot; Well, I won’t lie, they were some lovely postcards and plus I read in this travel book that this place is among one of the 100 Natural Wonders of the World; So I was like, I want to see this place.
