Helsinki

Worth visiting!

Why I want to go to this place

Actually my travel agent asked me why I’ve chosen to go to Helsinki this year. (Probably because it’s going to be Winter there and I’m giving up glorious sun-drenched days back at home.)

There’s no, one particular reason, but I’m sure I’ll find many reasons to be glad I went when I get there.

Point Nepean National Park

Worth visiting!

Point Nepean National Park

The Point Nepean National Park is based in Portsea, right on the tip of the opening to Port Phillip Bay.

While it is a tourist destination, there’s much here for the locals as Point Nepean is immersed in history. It’s a very beautiful place, & if you choose to go on a day during the week, there’s a good chance of having the place mostly to yourself. (Providing it’s not during Summer or school holidays.)

It most definitely is a place for reflection. Don’t forget to bring good walking shoes!

Hahndorf

Absolutely Gorgeous!

I haven’t returned to Hahndorf since I was a child & my memories were mainly of Sauerkraut… (I know, lovely!)

So I passed through the other week on the way to Adelaide. Hahndorf is just delightful, such a gorgeous little town – a must visit.

Oh, & if you go to the German Arms for a meal – make sure you have an appetite – the meals are enormous!

Hong Kong

(in China)

Worth visiting!

Hong Kong - (My holiday love affair).

It’s an amazing, busy and ambient city.

The cost of living is a little expensive, but the food is cheap and fabulous and the transport is amazing.

I will be returning to do the tourist leg, but just walking the streets and being a part of it all was fantastic!

Ladies' Market

Worth visiting!

Ladies' Market, Mong Kok

The Ladies’ Market in Mong Kok is a night market (popular with tourists) open every night till late (around 11pm). Expect all the goodies of a market, from clothing and handbags to gadgets and souveniers.

The market spans a single line down about 4 blocks. Walking through the market you’ll find stalls on your left and right. You’ll also find a variety of stores on both sides of the streets that the market runs down.

The area of Mong Kok that the Ladies’ Market is in, is also open till late, with plenty of shopping, people and food. The ambience is fantastic!

Ladies’ Market is a must do & don’t forget to bargain!

Chocolate Hills

Worth visiting!

Chocolate Hills

A well known tourist attraction in Bohol are the Chocolate Hills, history of the Chocolate Hills can be found at the major tourist lookout.

The view is amazing, and even more gorgeous with the sun out. A must do for any vistor to Bohol.

Sagbayan Peak

Worth visiting!

Sagbayan Peak

Sagbayan Peak is easily an hour from Bohol’s capital, Tagbilaran. (That would be by Taxi, or someone who drives relatively fast, bus & jeepney transport would be slower.)

At Sagbayan Peak the main attraction is a view of some of the famous Chocolate Hills that are found on Bohol Island, however the the peak has quirky statues and features throughout.

Sagbayan Peak also has a butterfly dome, a small Tarsier enclosure at the bottom entrance, and a couple of cafes.

Discos are held at Sagbayan Peak, which is lit up during the night.

There’s a small entry fee, a steep walk up to the top (however it’s a short walk) and there are bathroom facilities.

Sagbayan Peak is lovely during the day and the night, if you have an opportunity, visit the at both times (or go late afternoon.)

Metro Monorail

Worth visiting!

It's silly but...

this is one of my favourite things to do in Sydney.

Just catch the Monorail.

The last time I did we did a couple laps while gorging ourselves with Krispy Kreme doughnuts!

Ipswich

Worth visiting!

Ipswich is hot!

We drove through Ipswich. It is extremely hot and dry! I was told it was hotter than Brisbane, and they were right!

Driving through, there doesn’t seem to be a lot to do from first impressions.

Although I have selected Worth Visiting, I’m on the fence about this. I was happy to drive through because at least I have visited Ipswich, but I don’t think I would come back to stay.
