Good for a wander, some great displays to see.

Great food and atmosphere – I really liked this place. Well worth a visit.

Okay, so I’m biased. I lived here for the first 20 odd years of my life and moved back not quite two years ago.

It’s a great suburb because it’s got all the conveniences – shopping centre, post office, railway station, pub, laundromat, multiple fish’n’chip shops, hardware stores, $2 stores, car care stores, service stations, video stores, fast food stores, you name it – but it’s still mostly populated by the Aussie dream house on the quarter acre block. I mean seriously – I walk one block from home and I’m at a major shopping centre, yet across the street from me live 3 sheep. Love it :)

The mall has all the usual suspects – plenty of shops, places to eat, a cinema and most importantly, some really cool markets on the weekend.

It sounds like a very interesting place and I really must get in there and have a look around.

Queens Park is the huge park on your left as you drive through the fiveways and into Ipswich City itself. It’s a great place for a picnic, a play on the swings (they’ve recently upgraded the play park), a look at the animals in the nursery section or an ice cream at the kiosk.

I spent a lot of time in this park while growing up and it’s up there as one of my all time favourite places in Ipswich.

Visited in July and it was quite cold. Wandered around town a little. Visited the Hogsbreath Cafe, a tudor pub, the Sunday markets, the RSL and the Town Hall.

Determined that I am definitely a warm weather person!

Visited in January a couple of years ago (the height of Queensland Summer) and found it very hot :) Nice place though, I really enjoyed the time we spent there.
