What a larf…

First of all, the human guests are the ones IN the zoo. The Crocaceium had just been nuilt and we got to see stevo and his family give a great education and entertainment sessions on the crocs….man are they big!

Some good history there, picnics in the parks with roos and k-walas.

Went to school here….party time…

I am not a huge fan of reefs, but when you can do it on your own time out the back of a rental van it takes on a different light.

A couple of nice wrecks and the best night diving I have ever done.

I was born here and spent the first 17 years of my life there!

Most famous for Margret Thatcher and Sir Issac Netwon. That helps put a face to the name when travelling.

I don’t think you would be allowed to do this in many countries because of legal reasons! We went deep down, in cold water and through tiny, tiny little shafts. Oh yea, many people in some countries wouldn’t fit through this stuff anyways.

The night before was a real treat for me. We came across a sign to the Train & Plane motel. Upon investigation it turned out to be Bristol turned into 2 motel rooms! Whoopee…we spent the night in the tail unit.

This trip was the hightlight of our tout in New Zealand. I think we paid just 400USD a person for what turned out to be a 2 day private, guided tour. There was another couple with a guide as well. We pitched our gear at the hut and summited. The guide hadn’t actually summited the rock peak before, only the snow. I was happy to belay and hit the top with him!

I took a hundrea photos of the glacier, but caught a special picture of the helicopter pulling Lydia Bradey off the mounatin after a few days training…

Had a great time hanging out in Cairns. Lots of people to meet but it was kind of raining when we were there. It’s a great place to start your trip and get used to this part of the world.
