Lytham St. Annes

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

My tip for people visiting Lytham St. Annes is this:

Lytham St. Annes isn’t actually a single town!

It is the name given to the larger area that incorporates the towns of Lytham and St. Annes (and smaller areas like Ansdell), but most people assume that there is a single town called Lytham St. Annes.

St. Annes (sometimes called St. Annes-on-Sea) is the larger of the two towns, but not by a lot, and it is the first town south of Blackpool. A lot of people who say they’ve visited Lytham St. Annes, and who haven’t realised that there is more than one town, will actually have visited St. Annes, as it is the first town they come across when travelling south from Blackpool. However, once you have visited St. Annes, if you continue to go south along the coastline, you will come to Lytham! Lytham has its own town centre, shops, neighbourhoods etc, and it would be such a shame to miss it out!

Yes, I’m biased – I live in Lytham – but I always think that it’s such a shame when people want to see Lytham St. Annes, but accidentally miss out on seeing half of it, ie: Lytham!

Luton

Why I want to go to this place

I want to visit Luton because another of my pen-friends lives there. It would be lovely to meet my friend Elaine in person for the first time!

However, if it wasn’t for the fact that my friend lives there, I doubt I would ever specifically want to go to Luton!

Worthing

Why I want to go to this place

I want to go to Worthing to see another good friend of mine who I’ve never met “in the flesh”.

I started writing to Teresa as a pen-pal in 1994, but nowadays we chat on the phone and send texts and emails. However, due to the distance between us, and both of us having various health problems, we’ve never been able to meet up.

I’d love to go to Worthing – I could see Teresa in person for the first time, and it would also be nice to visit another residential seaside town like the one I live in!

Sidcup

Why I want to go to this place

I want to visit Sidcup, in Kent, to see my close friend Dawn, who lives there. Me and Dawn have been friends since the mid-1990’s but we’ve only met up with each other once, when she came up to Blackpool on holiday. (We started off as pen-pals.)

I’d love to see her again! OK, we talk on the phone all the time, but it’s not the same as being in the same room, is it?!

I’m afraid Dawn is the only reason I want to go to Sidcup, but I’m sure it’s nice there!
