Cafe Du Monde, French Quarter

Spent March thru June 2006 in NOLA. Du Monde just opened back up to 24 hr in March. As always it’s priceless and worth the trip. Go late at night, yummmmm.

over 5 years agoA small town like NOLA, esp. after Katrina, makes HOB a fantastic venue to see great artists perform right in front of you. Saw Lucinda Williams, Femi Kuti and more with fun people and NOT too big a crowd.
A far cry from the scene in LA or NYC.
Friendly folks as always.
Slowly getting up to speed. NOLA is still it’s earthy, soulful, sensual self if much worse for wear and tear. Plenty to eat, always a reason to drink and never shy about having a parade or festival, this is a FUN place to explore. Crime is down though some say on the rise again.
I keep eating and eating, every day someplace new. So far, even for a slice of pizza, I haven’t been disappointed.
Pascal Manale, SLICE, Juan’s Flying Burrito, Redfish Grill, Bourbon Oyster House, Mena’s Mother’s, Still Perkin’, ALL good, some better but all good.
