Great for days trips, as well as a nice city.

Really beautiful (so much more than Siena).

I loved Pisa. Field of Miracles is very pretty – and worth it if you’re willing to pay out to see inside things or climb the tower (although i think of lot of people wouldn’t agree with me! and yes, Pisa isn’t the only leaning tower), but besides this there is just something so cool about this town! Something in the atmosphere!

I worked my way from the other side of the town to the Basilica, and although i think the town is really pretty i was feeling slightly disillusioned as it seems that way primarily to keep the tourists happy (basically seems to have totally given itself in to tourism, and nothing feels natural), but the lower church at the Basilica in incredible – it just made going there so so worth while.

I had a fantastic time here. Fantastic beaches (I was there is May – warm enough weather but empty beaches, no sure if could be so complimentary in the crowds of the peak season, but they do go on forever with soft white sand.) Main street in cool to walk along (lined with shops selling things like spades and pots!) and there is a fun, laid back atmosphere about the city.

Genova is a brilliant city, partially cuz its so unlike what you expect Italy to be like (which was a nice break after 2 months in Italy seeing small italian towns!). Friendly people, good shopping, history, easy access to the coast. Loved just sitting by the harbour watching the cruise ships prepare to leave. It felt much safer than I expected. I was a teenage girl travelling alone and had absolutely no hassle.

If you’re looking for food, you’re probably better off staying in Bologna, but the town is really pretty.

Perfect. So much to see, close to some treasures of italy e.g. Mantova, great shopping, good food. Touristy, but doesn’t feel over run like Florence or Rome.
