A tip I have about this place
If you don’t mind getting wet, go on a rainy summer day. There will be very few people there, and it’s exhilarating to walk around the gorgeous landscape dripping wet.

Visited my uncle here this past August—such a beautiful little city (just like the majority of Washington state XD). I especially loved the graffiti wall; I adore the concept and wish they had one available here in Missouri. Hoping to get into UW, so maybe I’ll be back in Redmond soon =].

I’d like to work with Doctors Without Borders, but I hear you have to have a minimum of a nursing degree to get in. As that’s stricken (for at least the next few years), I’d like to volunteer in some way, particularly distributing food or helping kids. The crisis in Sudan is quite possibly the worst in the known world at the moment… I’m willing to help in any way possible.

Not too interesting, at least not from what I saw. My mother lives in the area. Pretty nice mall, not a bad looking city, but nothing particularly special, either. No music scene, unless you’re into country.

Absolutely adore campus, UW is my dream college (if I’m not accepted into Stanford, anyway ;]). Every aspect of Seattle I’ve encountered is positively brilliant, UW is no exception.

As I live in the area (just south of KC), I’ve been there a fair amount of times. The Nelson-Atkins museum is nice, and the plaza is gorgeous, but there really isn’t a lot of culture in KC… It gets a fair level of concerts passing through, but none of the smaller or more underground bands, especially not if they’re international. Traffic isn’t bad, but gang violence is huge, especially in the north bits of the city. Differs from most larger cities in that the people are considerably more conservative. UMKC has a nice campus, though, and it’s generally liberal-leaning. If you’re looking for a great big city, you’ll probably want something more coastal, but Kansas City isn’t a bad place to visit once in a while.

Bah. Lived here from first grade through senior year of high school. It was the scourge of my adolescent existence—I usually claim Joplin instead =].
Tips for anyone passing through? Don’t let on if you have liberal, non-Christian, or socialist views; you’ll alienate the locals. No joke.
