Randolph

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

Ive lived in Randolph since December 2005. Its an OK place to live. Its pretty cheap to live here. My son was born at home in Randolph, so we will always have that connection to this town. We hope to move in a couple years, before my son enters school. The school system here is terrible and poorly funded. There has been some recent violence, mostly gang related it seems. Its unfortunate that Randolph appears to be getting worse and worse.

Scituate

Worth visiting!

my hometown

This is my hometown. Its a coastal suburb of Boston. Its very beautiful, but like any good suburb, has its fair share of BS.
I recommend it as a place to visit, but I wouldnt recommend growing up there….

Salem

Worth visiting!

worth visting... once

Salem is one of those places that, growing up around Boston, every kid goes to on a field trip at least once. You hit the museums, and sometimes even see a silly play about the witch hunts. Thats the capacity in which Ive been to Salem.
Ive heard its fun around Halloween, never personally desired to go. Ive heard its also a mob-scene.
I think Salem is highly over-rated. All the Goths and Pagans think its so great, but its actually pretty lame.
Im giving it a “worth visiting” rating, because its worth visiting once in your life, if you live around MA or NH, but dont make a special trip there.

Sudbury

(in Canada > Ontario)

Not worth visiting!

indeed!

I had a boyfriend who lived here. My family went on vacation to Sudbury to meet his family. It was quite boring indeed. I drank a lot of Jones Soda, though. That was pretty cool. Oh, and they called the convenience store “the confectionary”... thats pretty weird.

Peggy's Cove

Worth visiting!

Nice day trip

On our honeymoon to Halifax, we took a quick jaunt up to Peggys Cove. Its not a very long way, and its a pretty drive.
We went to lunch at that little restaurant right next to the lighthouse, and it was surprisingly yummy food for what is really just a tourist stop.
The big rocks were fun to climb on, and my husband and I liked searching for critters in the little pools and in the marshes. We saw a weasel!
It was quite windy, and I was concerned I would fall to my death off the rocks if I climbed too high. Aside from that, it was a lot of fun, and very beautiful.

Halifax

Worth visiting!

Untitled

My husband and I went to Halifax, NS for our honeymoon in May 2005. I have “Nova Scotian” (I guess) in my blood; my Scottish ancestors first settled in Nova Scotia. Thats part of the reason I wanted to go there.
We walked around a lot down on the waterfront. We did some shopping in the cute shops, and went on the “Harbour Hopper”, which is an amphibious vehicle. We also checked out the Citadel up on the hill. There were lots of men in kilts there. The pubs were really fun, too. One pub we went to had folk music, which was great. The food all around Halifax, especially the seafood, was quite good. I had fish and chips almost every night… It is also a very diverse city. I think theres a big Muslim and South Asian population there, like everywhere in Canada. It was great for me, because I crave cultural diversity.
Another great thing about Halifax is that its relatively inexpensive, the accomodations as well as the food and other goods, once the exchange rate is taken into account.
Overall, excellent trip. Id definately go back.

Isle Of Skye

Worth visiting!

I stayed 2 nights in Skye when touring Scotland in 2002. It was my favourite place in Scotland. Its so incredibly beautiful and magical. I was there in April, but it wasnt too cold. It was “sweater weather”.
I would go again if I got the chance. Actually, Id live there if it were feasable; I loved it that much.
