Fort Rucker

Not worth visiting!

Water and Humidity! Not a good combo!

My husband was in Iraq (the first time – 1990) and my sister had come up from Ft. Rucker to visit me at Fort Bragg.

While she was with me, Desert Storm ended, and my hubby came home. We took my sister back to Ft. Rucker while we started making the “relative” rounds (visiting all the relatives).

We opened her government housing up, and the place was covered in MOLD! It was GROSS!! She had placed a work order before she left and housing never showed up to fix the hot water leak.

Another reason I’ll never live on the East Coast again!

Mexico

Worth visiting!

Different type of shopping!

I have been to Mexico once. My sister-in-law took me when I was staying down in Yuma. It was a totally different type of shopping. Most of it open air including the food. There were flies everywhere, even on the meat! I was a little turned off by how dirty it was. I was only seventeen at the time so I was very nervous about crossing the border and not being able to get back.

It was a fun trip all in all! I would go again as long as I had my passport!

Reno

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Shopping for the Smallville People!

Reno is my current shopping mecca! Since the small (17,000 including 10,000 prisoners!) town I currently live in has NO shopping, I go to Reno for groceries, clothes, plants, anything! Usually about once a month. I never thought I could spend a whole day doing nothing but driving and shopping, but hey, it’s my life now! LOL

Berlin Wall

(in Germany > Berlin)

Worth visiting!

What an experience!

My husband received orders for Berlin right after we were married. We spent three years there and I was always told, while I was there, that when you leave, you always take home a souvenir. It was either a cuckoo clock or a baby. I must have taken too long to buy the clock because I brought home a baby boy! LOL

We were there when the country was still divided and were very fortunate to still be there when the wall finally came down! It was an awesome experience and changed my whole outlook on how great our country really is!

Eugene

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Eugene is one of the few memories I have of my dad. We used to go bike riding together all over the place. I also remember that there was a neighborhood swimming pool that my brother and sister and I would go to.

I have a lot of fond memories of Eugene and it is one of the places I hope to live in again!

Haines Junction

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I was headed onto the Alaska Ferry driving to a place I said I would NEVER live! California… and yet, here I am, in a place they say is California, but after two feet of snow just dumped here, I think I’m still in Alaska! LOL

Haines Junction is just that – a junction… not much there!

Fort Carson

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I spent 8 months here when I was first married. I loved it! My husband and I did lots of hiking and fun things. We considered moving to Colorado Springs permanently but never did. It was a great town and had lots of things to do especially for poor military families!

Fort Bragg

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I was glad to leave it again! I spent a total of six years at Fort Bragg during my husband’s two tours. I was very glad to finally leave and know that I would never have to live there again. Way too many bugs! And too hot and muggy! Yuck!!

West Anchorage High School

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I was there for a band/orchestra event with my kids. It has changed in a lot of ways (especially the front foyer area by the stairs!) but I saw a lot of places that I remembered and that were pretty much the same!
