Schloss Neuschwanstein, Schwangau

Long, long ago.....

I was living in Stuttgart, W. Germany in 1983 with my husband who was stationed there. I grabbed the opportunities to take all the tours I could to castles in the area. This visit was my favorite.

I was only disappointed with the magnitude of the place and how little of the interior you get to see on the tour. But what you do see is amazing! The paintings on all the walls are magnificent! Made especially more appreciative if you first read their english website tour and understand all the stories and legends that insired the work. And, being a big fan of Wagner opera, as His Majesty was, I love that he was so insired to include them in his everyday life.

It is truly one of the most spectacular places in the world, for the scope and size of such a building on the top of a very high mountain.

Any trip to the Baverian Alps must include a visit there.

AM91 - Point Of Faith Radio, The Big Red Castle

Our day at the Big Red Castle--Saturday October 4, 2006

We had such fun driving to the Big Red Castle. As we made our way north on Federal Blvd. rounding the crest of the hill after 64th Ave. you can see the large building up on the hill. Soon the children began to get very excited about seeing the castle on the horizon.

As we pulled to to the building, they were very anxious indeed!

We got there with a few minutes to spare for their open house. But, welcomes were as though welcoming family. Everyone marveling at how much the children had grown. Dr. Dellenbach was delighted with the twin’s beauty and the staff was thrilled to see our little Alexandra getting so big.

We had our picture taken with Dan Harder. Jack Pellon, the station manager, sent me the pic via e-mail, as well as giving us a signed copy.

They also gave us a lovely gift bag of materials from Pastor Swindoll’s “Paw and Tails” programs. The kids love those DVDs!

We really enjoyed our time with the KPOF family. We are looking forward to visiting them again next year!
