I spent a year in Colorado living with my favorite paople before they moved as far way as possible…the UK, turkeys! Anyway, we had an amazing time while I was there….or at least I did. They were a little jadded at that point but anyway…I got to snowboard for the first time and became a Breckenrigde regular for a little while. I was able to ride my bike to work which I rate very high for any place I live and I realized it wasn’t that cold…

It was the 90’s on Ios and we ran out of money and got stuck. It was awsome….working in the bars as “dancers”...trying to make the place look busy and happening, laying in the sun topless without feeling too wierd, slamming retzina and mmaking good friends.

Working on a Moshav in the Negev desert while scud missiles whirrled by and the Army came to see if we had enough chemical warfare masks! Quite an experience. gotta say the Isrealis were really calm about it all…..see what growing up in a warzone can do….

One of the first foreign countries I ever visisted and being and ackward teenager I think it was the first time I got flirted with, got my butt pinched and was sung to in Rome by a smitten boy…. made me realized American teenage boys didn’t matter.

It’s fast in the city, slow on the beach.

This place is huge and so different as you travel around on the different islands. The people are the most hospitable and giving and friendly and curious. Try to get off th e beaten path…and take your time to talk and investigate.

Didn’t know much about it before arriving but the people are the friendliest I’ve ever met, the men are breath taking especially in their skirts, the sea is clean and teaming with life and you can get far far away.

Absolutely the most amazing place on the planet. I’d move there in a minute if they’d have me. We, my trazel buddy and I, took 8 months and did a figure eight over the two islands wooff-ing and car camping in our super little singer vogue car.

3 months was not enough time, but studying permaculture in Nimbin was a little retro 60’s with some really excellent people and food and ideas!
