This is my favorite Asian restaurant in Gainesville, Florida. I love to go there at sunset, and watch the sun go down over Bivens Lake. The Vietnamese noodle bowls are wonderful. The family who owns the place is so nice. Great people. Don’t forget to try the jasmine tea. We see alligators in the lake every time we dine at Chop Stix.

If you have never been to the bat house at sunset to see the bats come out, you are really missing something special. Thousands of bats come swooping out all at once, very graceful in the evening sky. Amazing little creatures. Kinda smelly, but a sight to see nevertheless.

I have never had a bad meal at El Indio. They have vegetarian cuisine in addition to meat entrees. I highly recommend their black bean burritos. Their apple burrito is one of my very favorite desserts, and inexpensive, too! We ate lunch there today.

This was my favorite little Mexican restaurant in Gainesville for almost 20 years. They recently moved to Alachua, Florida, and it is well worth the drive to eat there! Great Mexican food. They make the best fried ice cream I’ve ever eaten!
