Montreal

Très bien!

Beautiful city, lovely buildings, good food…alot of people were kind of snotty but some were great. Add Montréal to your destination list.

HOME

I haven’t been to too many places, but I say with a fair bit of confidence that Toronto is The Greatest City on Earth. It practically IS a condensed version of earth, with so many different cultures having their own little spots all over the city. It doesn’t matter what you like to do, you’ll find it, and it doesn’t matter who you are, you’ll fit in somewhere. You don’t even need a car!

And FYI the second “T” is silent. ;)

Oakville

Worth visiting!

Native Oakvillian

You need some serious cash to live there but anyone can visit. The newer areas are just awful, high density housing with no character at all, but Olde Oakville? It’s gorgeous. Find out when the downtown is having one of its celebrations and schedule a trip. Try not to spend the whole evening in the beer tent though!

IKEA

Worth visiting!

IKEA!

I love IKEA! How could you not? Don’t buy the furniture, though, just stick to the giant selection of awesome kitchenware and nifty accessories for every room in your house. It’s a tradition for the women (and sometimes dad too) of my family to go to IKEA and get all giddy about all of the neat stuff they have.

Not worth visiting!

Ew

The city was once quite nice and the architecture is still there, it has a few nice places to visit if you don’t have to stay. However, living here is hell. When I came here to get involved in real estate everyone told me not to come, that it was a revolting city where everything was grimey and decaying and full of rednecks. I thought that it was just a ridiculous stereotype.

IT”S ALL TRUE!

Of course no generalization will describe anything with 100% accuracy, there are some lovely homes and courteous well spoken people here. But when I leave the house, walk past the families camped out on their front porches drinking and yelling at the giant mass of screaming kids in the street, step over one of the puddles of vomit on the sidewalk, skirt around all of the smokers standing outside of the sleazy holes swearing like the entire english language consists of four letter words, and arrive at my job that pays 30% less than the same job in a decent city would, I think to myself:

I’m. Never. Comming. Back.

Ever.

I lust like all the wacky tourist attractions over here on the Canadian side, and the nifty shopping in the area. Haven’t seen the US side yet I don’t think.
