A tip I have about this place

Skip downtown and head to Hecksher Drive to go to Huguenout (sp?) Park and spend time on the beach near the Jetties. Fishing, swimming (at your own risk, jellyfish season right now, ya know? plus rip currents), wind sailling, boating. So beautiful down that way. Nassau Sound is a good place to fish, off the George Crady bridge. Then head on up to Fernandina Beach to collect sharks teeth and watch the surf come in, off of Fletcher Avenue (not to mention, the houses on the beach are a sight to see there.) ((Also, don’t swim in the St. John’s river, thank you. It’s for your own health.))

News about this place

It’s beautiful there, quiet, and I hear the crablegs there are great. Myself and my parents used to go and stay at a hotel on the beach when our family company were doing commercial jobs. Probably not exciting like crowded South Beach or stuffy, pee-on-the-streets New York, but far more beautiful.

St. Augustine

News about this place

A beautiful place indeed. Even on the sustained knowledge that much of St. Augustine is a tourist trap, you can find decent deals on some really beautiful furnishings, home or garden or just plain souveneir. The beaches are nice too, though I haven’t to the beaches since 5th grade, and that was a long time ago.

A tip I have about this place

Bring your own pajamas, because despite what you think, I had to drive 10 miles from my hotel to find a walmart. Which I guess isn’t bad, but it’s too crowded for my taste. I reccommend going atleast once because of Epcot and Islands of Adventure and some of the cool upside-down designed buildings. Though, traffic on I-4 getting there is murder… not going into town, but in town. Plus, the road system is a little confusing. Maybe it’s because I come from a less crowded Florida town.
