I don’t think it was called Java Joe’s. There’s another place called that.

I too went to Java’s through high school and on visits home from college. The frequency got embarrassing, but it’s a great place. The customers are interesting, the waitstaff is cool, and the decor’s warm and exciting. There’s self-consciousness without pretension.

I’m worried what the library and education budget cuts will do to the city, but the culture’s nice enough, and there are certainly plenty of cultural spots.
