Sedona’s a lovely place, but many of the tours available cost a pretty penny, along with the lodging. My grandparents are lucky enough to own a timeshare, but hey, they own timeshares in Key West, and own and run a historic hotel on the East Coast.

My own trip there was rather dull, aside from a fun jaunt with my digital camera. I wasn’t willing to pay $300+ for two people to take a jeep tour; call me cheap. But if you like hiking, biking, climbing… Sedona’s awesome.

I hail from the Paradise Valley region of Phoenix, right next to Shadow Mountain. My family and I get treated regularly to spectacular sunsets, and awesome weather towards the fall and winter. As I’m writing this, I’ve got a great view of the lightning from our barely started monsoon season – late this year, but I’m glad it finally came.

I’ve got some great shots of sunsets, blue skies, and more from the Phoenix area, and would be glad to answer any questions on where to visit, and when. :D

Also, to those of you snowbirds who can’t bear a touch of heat, I wouldn’t advise visiting in the summer, as our indoor atractions are somewhat lacking – you could see plays, symphonies, visit our museums (art, science, natural history…), but other than that, not much draws my own attentions. For those who do enjoy the outdoors, we have a great assortment of hiking trails, water parks, golf courses (“Eew” say I to golf :P), and some great outdoor shopping malls. We’re also home to Phoenix International Raceway, for those into Nascar; for those into football, our team wandered away from their old stadium, but our baseball team stayed in their home stadium.

Please note, I’m probably missing a great deal of activities, but I’m a senior in HS, and am rather busy ensuring I get into the college of my picking ^__
