Savanna

Worth visiting!

This is a tiny little town where my grandparents live.

They used to own the Pool 13 supper club. The town is so small it only has 1 stoplight and they only got that about 10 years ago. It’s right on the Mississippi river and there are some great views. Wanna buy a boat? You can buy one from my Uncle at the Martens’ boat shop. No hotels, but some good homestyle cooking and neat little shops to check out.

Chicago

Worth visiting!

The best pizza in the USA.

You must go to Uno’s Pizzarea and have the deep dish pizza. It is soooooo good. The Sears tower was neat too.

Austin

Worth visiting!

I lived in Austin for a couple months.

I enjoyed it. The night scene was great. I enjoyed that there seemed to be a breeze there all the time. I live in Dallas now and in the middle of the summer it gets hot, himid and still. In Austin ( I was there in June and July) it was still hot and humid but at night it seemed to cool down and a nice breeze came in. We could sit in the apartments courtyard and talk. I sometimes regret leaving.

Reno

Worth visiting!

Spend your holiday in Reno!

When my family liven in Northern, CA we used to go to Reno often. It was only about 1.5 hours away and since my Mom didn’t cook and we had no other family in CA, we went to Reno for Thanksgiving and Christmas a lot. It was fun. Even as a kid, I couldn’t gamble, but the hotels were nice and they all had kids areas wirh entertainers and games. We used to go to Circus Circus and spend hours watching the shows. Then we would have dinner in one of the buffets. It was perfect because you could have the traditional turkey and stuffing or you could eat rainbow trout and rice pilaf, they had whatever you wanted.

Auburn

Worth visiting!

I used to live in Auburn.

I went to middle school and most of High School in Auburn. My family moved there when my Dad retired from the Navy. I was a teenager, so there are lots of bad memories about that, but I have a lot of great memories too. I was an Auburn Mermaid (the synchronized swimming team), sang in the county fair talent contests, and have lots of great memories of wandering all over downtown, and old downtown. There used to be the best mongolian grill there, a great popcorn shop, and my Mom worked at Ropers Jewelers for about 8 years. We rode in parades, watched the christmas tree lighting, and lived in a wonderful neighborhood. We would walk or bycicle to the Midu market and get a soda, then head over to the park and swim or play on the playgrounds. It was a great place to grow up.

California

Worth visiting!

I lived in CA.

My Family lived in CA twice, once when I was in 1st grade in Novato, CA then again when I was in 5th grade until my senior year in High School in Auburn. There are lots of great things about, CA. Now that I am in Texas I especially miss the weather.

Lake Tahoe

Worth visiting!

Even if you don't ski, Lake Tahoe is worth a visit.

The views are spectacular! We used to go to Tahoe all the time when my family lived in northern CA as it was only about 1 hour away. I don’t ski, and we used to go there year round. The snow is fun to play in, but I really think Tahoe is the prettiest in the spring. When all the flowers are in bloom and there is just a little bit of snow left on the ground. The rivers are full with clear rushing water and the animals have come out to find food. You can see fish, birds, rabbits, deer, and all kinds of other creatures. We used to fish the rivers for rainbow trout (yum!) and climb in the creekbeds and skip rocks accroos the rivers. The lake is perfect, you look out across the water and it rally is hard to tell which is real and which is the reflection. There is a small restaurant and gas station and a lovely inn that has a fireplace and they used to have board games. We would go there to warm up on our winter trips and have hot cocoa and play a game by the fire. It’s been over 10 years but I still have a lot of fond memories of Lake Tahoe.

San Francisco

Worth visiting!

San Francisco is one of my favorite places in the US.

There are so many things to do in San Fran, China Town and Fisherman’s Warf are 2 of my favorite places. I haven’t been there in over 10 years and I can still smell the ocean and see the winding streets when I close my eyes. Fly kites on the beaches, eat some of the best foods, ride the trolley, shop, peoplewatch, you can do so many things there. My family used to go to San Fran a lot when we lived in northen CA it was only about 1.5 hours away. It was a great place to spend the weekend. Drive or walk down Lombard street. Eat awesome seafood on pier 39? with the best sourdough bread ever made while watching the sea lions. shop and people watch in China town. Ride the trolley and look at all the pastel painted houses on the hills. Can you tell I miss it?

Alpharetta

Worth visiting!

I think I'm in love.

I absolutely love Alpharetta. The trees and hills are wonderful. Even in the summer there are flowers blooming. The people are nice and the temperature is a little cooler than where I am now (Dallas, TX). Can you tell I want to move to Alpharetta? My company’s corporate office is there and I am trying to get transferred. One day, I will live there.

Dallas

Worth visiting!

There are definately things to do in Dallas.

I don’t want to live here anymore, but visiting would be fun.

If you decide to come here on vacation there are lots of things to do. I like the Dallas Museum of Art and downtown Fort Worth is on the top of my list too.
