Lived in Minnesota for four years … go visit. It’s beautiful. Just bring some warm clothes, and be prepared to dig your way out of your front door, or at least navigate ice on your way anywhere. ;) Broomball is the winter sport of choice at Minnesota colleges for a reason.

I lived in Illinois for 17 years. While that was 17 years too long, it’s definitely worth visiting … especially Chicago. If you’re not keen on blistering steam heat or frostbite, however, I’d recommend you visit in the spring or fall.

Okay, this place is small. I mean, SMALL. While there, I ran into someone I knew, which pretty much sealed the deal. Beyond that, all we saw of it was touristy shops and food vendors, and I was left pretty underwhelmed.

For several days, I stayed in Morgins – a tiny town right on the French-Swiss border. Among other things, I rode a ski-lift to the top of our own personal Alp. While there, I was adopted by a calf who kept sticking its tongue up its nose and then trying to lick my face. Somewhere, there exists a picture of this happening … in any case, it was the most amazing place I have ever been. Go, if you can. It’s almost too beautiful to be real.

Don’t remember much of the few hours I was there, but I got pooped on by a million pigeons and someone tried to steal my wallet out of my backpack WHILE I WAS WEARING IT. Probably not a totally fair assessment, but it gets a big thumbs down in my book.

Not a HUGE fan of karaoke here, but it’s all right. Food’s pretty tasty, too.
