Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Lived in Rittenhouse Square for 13 years
My life has evolved into this wierd suburban thing. But hey, my kids have a big beautiful house and lots of room to run./ But I am really a city girl at heart. I had so much fun in my twenties and somehow I escaped unscathed or at least better for the wear. Center City is really a small place and the crowd I ran with for years was pretty out there, obvious and fun. We made going out a real mission. It was over in a natural way- I don’t miss it. But I loved walking everywhere and I knew my fruit lady (at Maxx’x on 20th (between locust and spruce))and I could always stop by my old hang coffee shop and see the old faces. The days of Bar Noir are long over (Thank G-d) but I still liked having an Urban existence. Even the old ladies at Daffies knew my nanny and Daughter. But I have been hanging around Jenkintown and it is comparibly lame and ugly but it does have its convienences and I guess I don’t really mind cause the kids are happy. Who would think I miss the old, stinky, city and the gross Bums and crazy people.
