The Levee, Marietta
The Marietta Levee
The Marietta levee is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum River. In the early 1800’s the Levee was a popular location for early pioneers and boats traveling the river. Ship building later became a lucrative industry in the area until it’s decline around the late 1800’s. Today the Levee is a major attraction for tourists, and is host to such events as the “Riverfront Roar”, and the “Sternwheel Festival”.
