People come to Sonoma, see the Plaza park at the center of town and it gooes deep into a mythic memory of small town America and Community. They come here and build onto the community that is already here. Some of the issues that have come up nationwide via the web because of the ducks on the Plaza. A city counsel woman wanted to get rid of the ducks (they block traffic etc.) but there was such a local and nationwide brew-haha the ducks and the duck pond are part of our histrory so far.

The real magic of the Plaza comes when you arrive at sunset, the time of the day when the sky seems to open up, usually in summer. Stand at the Mission Bell on the pavement in front of the palm tree where you can see all the way down Broadway. On a sunny day after the sun sets and the rays of the sun shoot up over Sonoma Mountain look down into your own heart and maybe if you’re still enough you’ll feel it. the magic. It was once a home for wayward women and the ghosts still haunt the place. It was the Sonoma valley Hospital. There is a park nearby that is gorgeous for picnicing and this is one of the few great secrets about Sonoma.
