Mary Haskett

On one of my many trips to Guanajuato, my sister and I decided to go to the Mummy museum. I had heard about it many times but avoided it becuase I didn’t think I would like it. We took my daughter with us.

At first it was spooky and shocking but then it was just sad. These people should be buried, not a tourist attraction. My daughter made me take my jacket off and wrap it around her head so she couldn’t see. I had to walk her through the rest of the tour (it’s one way only) with a denim jacket over her face.

The water is the strangest color but it’s because of all the rock dust dissolved in the water by the grinding motion of the glacier.

It so beautiful that it was overwhelming. I ended up with sensory overload after a while and just had to close my eyes.

The hotel on the beach was one of the nicest I’ve been to but it was insanely hot.

Would love to go back.

The airport was confusing but everyone was very nice and helpful.

The people are very friendly.

But too many Americans. When I leave the country, I want to feel like I’m somewhere else.

I want to live here full time, some day.
