I have Polish ancestry and am third generation American. My great grandparents came over around 1900. I would love to visit Poland someday.

We came back to Lowell last weekend. There was an apartment for rent below the organic cafe!! So tempting. We stayed at a hotel, had a nice Italian dinner out, and visited Kerouac’s birthplace, memorial park, and grave. Took lots of photos. There is nothing like a quiet New England town in Autumn. It was rainy but peaceful. I heart Lowell.

Ok, it’s my preoccupation with stalking bands and going on art/music/literature pursuing vacations. I would love to see the place that could inspire Belle and Sebastian, Orange Juice, Bis, Camera Obscura, Teenage Fanclub, Snow Patrol, Vaselines, Mogwai, Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand, The Pastels… Yeah, let’s book our tickets soon… Drool.

We went last weekend but only had a few hours to spend. This weekend is the Kerouac festival… I so wish we would have been able to be there this weekend instead! We did have time to visit the Kerouac commemorative monument and a lovely organic cafe on Middle Street called Life Alive. Spent some time wandering around the cemetary (unsuccessfully) looking for Kerouac’s grave. We shall return soon!
